DERWENT RESERVOIR WINTER 5 & 10 MILE RUNS – 2026 

We are excited to be returning for the 7th year of these popular winter trail runs. Choose between a 5 mile or 10 mile route around this beautiful yet challenging North East location. The 10 miler does a full lap of the Reservoir on CLOSED ROADS & firm trails. The 5 miler is all on firm trails.

Derwent ReservoirThis stunning reservoir, owned by Northumbrian Water, sits right on the border of County Durham and Northumberland. The mixed terrain routes showcase the very best of this scenic area.

• 5 mile - Click here
• 10 mile - Click here

Cani-cross

• 5 Mile – Canicross friendly (one controlled dog per runner).
• 10 Mile – Not suitable due to extended sections on roads.

Start Times

• 10 Mile – 9:30am
• 5 Mile – 9:45am

Cut Off

Due to road closures, there is a 2.5-hour cut off for the 10 Mile event.

Timing

Live chip-timing will be provided by Timing Up North.

All finishers will receive:

Parking

From 2026, there will be a parking or bus transfer charge. Full details will be sent to entrants before the event.
